I think setting a schedule can be really helpful where you write down all of the important due dates but also make sure to have days or even just a couple hours after a study day to do something for yourself. That way, you remember to take breaks and know when to rest.

It’s important to compartmentalize and not let school consume you all day every day like it easily can. Create hours or time slots in your day for “you time” whether that’s a walk, a hike, a workout class, or just time to journal or read. The key is to put it in your schedule though… if you write it down or block out that time, it’s more likely to happen!

I like your suggestion of time blocking specific times that focus on our mental health. I am definitely more inclined to take breaks and practice self-care when I write it on my to-do list or planner!

Something that I like to do is use studying methods that include breaks, that way I know I am relaxing in between and not burning myself out. For example the pomodoro technique includes breaks between each study session but after a few I give myself a longer break. During the longer break I try my best to not use my phone and get outside or be active. I also like having a night time routine that does not include any school work!
