Knowing when to ask for professional help often comes down to recognizing patterns. If you’re anxiety, depression, or stress amounts to the point where it’s interfering with your daily life and responsibilities— it’s probably time to ask for help. If you are too mentally tired to do the things that you were once passionate about, or really enjoyed, that’s another sign it’s time to seek professional help. Also, snapping at others more frequently, and drinking or smoking more than usual could be red flags.
Sometimes, a therapist can offer help that a friend or family member simply can’t provide.

Absolutely!! I think it’s frustrating wanting to find support and guidance, and the go to is a prescription. I don’t want meds, I want coping skills!

Absolutely, especially with the presence of social media I believe that mental health is downplayed. Specifically, I think social media falsely portrays social media and creates harmful stereotypes. When I want to talk about mental health I often feel misunderstood because people do not understand the depths of it.
