You know it’s time to ask for professional help when emotional struggles start interfering with your daily life or relationships. If you’re constantly feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad, or numb— and those feelings aren’t going away— it’s a sign to reach out. Trouble sleeping, changes in appetite, loss of interest in things you used to enjoy, or substance use can be other signs. Sometimes it’s not a crisis that leads someone to therapy, but a desire for clarity, growth, or support through life transitions. If you’re even questioning whether to seek help, that in itself can be a good reason to do so. What else? Wait until things feel unmanageable? Therapy is not just for breaking points, but also for building resilience.
