Self-care is a proactive, nurturing act that supports your overall well being. Like resting when you’re exhausted, setting boundaries, or doing something that recharges you emotionally or physically. Avoidance, on the other hand, is about escaping discomfort or difficult emotions, often leading to temporary relief but long-term stress— like endlessly binge-watching shows to avoid dealing with anxiety or skipping important tasks out of fear. Healthy self-care helps you return stronger; avoidance tends to delay growth. The key is asking yourself: am I doing this because it helps me? Or am I doing this to avoid ___?
