Lancer service costs creeping up, thinking of going independent
I’ve had my Lancer for five years and it’s been bulletproof, but the dealer servicing costs have been creeping up every year for what is honestly a very simple car. The last bill had a bunch of items I didn’t recognise and when I questioned them the explanation was vague. I don’t want to be one of those people who neglects their car to save a few dirhams, but I also don’t want to keep paying premium prices for basic maintenance. A friend suggested an expert Mitsubishi garage in Musaffah Abu Dhabi and said they’ve been taking their Outlander there for years without issues, which is reassuring. My question is whether independents can handle the scheduled maintenance properly on these cars, including the CVT fluid change which I know is important, or if there are things only the dealer can do. Also, does anyone know if they use genuine Mitsubishi parts or aftermarket? I’d rather keep this car running for another five years than save money now and regret it later.
